Understanding the behavior of concrete at very high strain rates is of critical importance in a range of applications. Under highly dynamic conditions, the strain-rate dependence of material response causes the material behavior to be significantly different from what is observed under quasi static conditions. The behavior of concrete at strain rates are studied experimentally. This experimental investigation uses explosive pressure range of loading rate. Experiments indicate that the load-carrying capacity of the concrete increases significantly with strain rate. The dynamic increase factor for tensile strength of concrete at a strain rates between 66s-1 to 80s-1 is approximately 4.5 to 6 respectively. The yield criterion in these tests is crack in tension zone. The results of experiments indicate good agreements with others researchers. At last by help of DOE Method a semi experimental model for behavior prediction of concert under blast loading is introduced.
